The Company:

Rotalink is a successful medium size manufacturer of miniature motors, transmission and control established since 1987 in Great Britain.
Our modular electro mechanical solutions are used in a vast numbers of industries in many different types of applications at small, medium and large size Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) on a global basis.
Our first global expansion was consolidated in Germany and now it is time to build a new formal position into others parts of Europe. In the first half of 2017 we will open a new office to cover Spain and Italy and we are looking for the right sales executive in order to properly promote our company in those markets.

The Role:

The sales engineer will report to the head of sales and will develop multiple tasks in a flexible week. Travel throughout Italy and other European countries frequently and when necessary come to our headquarters in the UK.

Key activities include:

  • Technical sales
  • Support the after sales
  • Build long term relationship with our customer
  • Research the market and produce executive report
  • Define, with the support of the headquarters, the best solution for the customer based on our products range
  • Interact with the engineering team and the sales support engineer on the follow up of the product development, samples manufacture and final customer test
  • Manage the annual contract price review
  • Preparation of project responses and price negotiations
  • Management and maintenance of the project and client data (CRM)
  • Help Rotalink with information about new product developments and the further development of existing products
  • Any other ordinary activities from the sales position

Typical time profile: 15-20% market research; 50-60% interfacing customers; 20-35% with sales routines.
The position is equipped with computers, telephone, car and etc to initially run through a home office located ideally in Milan region. The office will be established at some point in 2020.

Language skills:
Italian and English spoken and written fluently.
German, French and Dutch spoken and written fluently are advantageous!

Degree in engineering, computer literacy and sound commercial skills.

Professional experience: 

Minimum of 5 years in technical sales experience in sales role or 3 years technical selling experience to OEM's. A working knowledge of applications skills and the capability to manage projects are essential.
