For this project, our gearbox motors needed to deliver unbeatable reliability to allow for simple and automatic fish food dispensing.
A client came to us looking for specialist motors to be used within their automatic fish feeders. The German-based company has a history of developing fish feeders starting back in the 1950s. Since that time they have developed technology for a wide selection of products including for use in water treatment. Their feeders are used in a wide range of situations with different products tailored to garden ponds as well as for small and large-scale fish farms.
Many fish feeders, even to this day, are still utilising clockwise devices due to being proven method of automating fish feeding. Our motors would need to be able to deliver fantastic reliability in order to offer a quality alternative. Our goal is to always deliver motors that offer unbeatable reliability and performance, whether that be in the form of a geared AC motor, a brushed DC motor, a stepping motor, or a gearbox motor.

Built on a reputation for producing quality fish feeders used in domestic and commercial applications, our client was looking for unbeatable reliability. The fish feeder required both brushed DC motors and geared AC motors for the dispenser apparatus to deliver the food in periodic intervals.
The motors within the fish feeder allow the dispensers to move slowly a few times throughout the week to distribute food. The distribution must be consistent as both under and over-feeding can potentially harm the fish stock. A dependable fish feeder allows for the fish to go unmanaged for weeks, ideal for commercial applications where costs need to be kept to a minimum.
